According to a relevant publication in & nbsp; Official Gazette of the Republic , barley and corn are added to the list contained in the decree setting maximum wholesale and retail prices in special cases.
The Decree further states that this is issued because the prices of feed materials and cereals for human consumption are due to the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and the state of emergency created by the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24/2/2022, vertical increase with adverse effects on the prices of basic consumer goods.

It is also added, because of the particularly difficult economic conditions prevailing in the market, which require the restraint of the price increase. in basic consumer products, and because market conditions require consumers to be protected from any excessively high profit margins that may arise due to difficulties in finding barley and corn, with the consequent further increase in commodity prices.
The decree applies immediately.
Bread, milk, water, fuel and coffee were already on the list of commodities whose prices could be capped.
