Within 52 days only 10% of taxpayers have submitted the income declarations of employee and self-employed, for the tax year 2021.
Specifically from the beginning of April until today they have submitted their tax returns declarations of 28 thousand taxpayers out of the 280 thousand who are obliged to do so.
According to data from the Tax Department, 35 thousand taxpayers (31,500 employees and 3,500 self-employed have processed their income declarations. Out of the total number of taxpayers, 28 thousand have submitted their final tax returns and 7 thousand persons have processed their tax returns and The last date for submission of tax returns and the payment of due tax and charges is July 31, 2022.

In fact, those taxpayers who file tax returns from August 1 onwards will be subject to an administrative fine of € 100. Speaking to “F” on behalf of the Tax Department, Sotiris Markidis called on the public to proceed with the timely submission of their tax returns and the payment of taxes (income tax, GESS, extraordinary defense contribution) that may arise. As in previous years, taxpayers who last year had a gross income of up to € 19,500 are required to file tax returns. & Nbsp;
Very fast company returns
In addition, taxpayers will have ten months to file company and self-employed income tax returns for the tax year 2021. The submission of these tax returns began last Thursday and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2023. Mr. Markidis, stated that & nbsp; in the context of modernization of the Department and the effort made to provide all the necessary tools to taxpayers to comply in a timely manner with their tax obligations, the Department managed to post so soon in the TAXISnet system, company income declarations (TF4) and self-employed with accounts (TF1 Account.) He also said that the timely posting of these tax returns is & nbsp; a result of the intensive efforts made by the Department. He stressed that taxpayers will have enough time to comply with their tax obligations. At the same time, Mr. Markidis called on taxpayers and their representatives to take advantage of the 10-month period provided to them for the timely submission of declarations.
Changes for legal entities
In the meantime, after a recent amendment of the law, the submission of company income and self-employed income tax returns for the fiscal year 2020 is in progress, with a deadline of July 31, 2022. So far, they have been submitted definitively. about 50 thousand company statements while about 600 are in temporary receipt. As Mr. Markidis noted, the aim of the Tax Department is to comply with the schedules and deadlines, as provided by law and to avoid extensions, in order to achieve high levels of tax compliance. “We once again urge taxpayers to complete and finalize their return as soon as possible,” he concluded.
