10,226 vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine – Another 3,466 appointments available Monday

With the vaccination of 4,191 people, the citizens' process continued on the basis of the National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19 during the week of January 11-15, with the total number of vaccinated people receiving the first dose reaching 10,226 so far. Another 200 vaccinations are expected to be given to health professionals today.

Vaccination coverage continues with citizens falling into the age group over 80 years, while in 114 of the 121 nursing homes the process of granting the first dose to residents and their staff has been completed. Also, the vaccinations of the health professionals of private hospitals and the hospitals of OKYPY are being completed today. At the same time, the vaccination of Pediatricians (Pediatricians) and Adults began last Wednesday.

From Sunday, January 17, the administration of the 2nd dose will begin to the people who were vaccinated in the 1st phase of the Plan in the nursing homes and the first line health professionals.

At the same time, on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 9 am, 3,466 appointments will be made available to citizens over the age of 80 for the nine Vaccination Centers operating nationwide. It is recalled that the quantities received relate to two doses per person and, following the instructions of the European Medicines Agency and the manufacturers, the quantity required for the 2nd dose is stored for administration at the time provided for each vaccine. Note that six doses can be given from each vial.
