Which categories showed the biggest change
The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices in July 2023 increased by 2.4% compared to July 2022, while compared to the previous month it increased by 1.4%, according to data released on Friday the Statistical Service.
It is added that for the period January – July 2023, there was an increase of 4.6% compared to the corresponding period last year.
As reported, the biggest changes compared to July 2022, the categories Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (10.4%) and Transportation (-6.5%) presented.
It is added that compared to June 2023, the largest change was recorded in the category Clothing and Footwear (-11.8%), while for the period January – July 2023 compared to the corresponding period last year, the biggest changes were observed in the categories Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (9.1%), Housing, Water Supply , Electricity and LPG (7.8%) and Restaurants and Hotels (6.7%).
It is added that the biggest changes in the economic categories compared to July 2022 were observed in the Energy categories (-14, 1%) and Food-Alcoholic Beverages-Tobacco (8.7%), while compared to the previous month, the category Energy (8.5%) saw the biggest change.
