The Ministry of Labor announced that through the Plans and Policy Measures for the employment of the unemployed and the support of employment to date 2,089 unemployed have been employed, adding that the plans continue.
The plans were announced on October 23, 2020 and this is the Incentive Plan for the Employment of the Unemployed, with a budget of 17 million euros and the recruitment of up to 2,000 unemployed, the Ministry said, adding that 1,313 applications have been received so far.
It also notes the Incentive Plan for the Employment of Young People aged 15 to 29, who are out of Employment, Education or Training, with a budget of 10 million euros, for the recruitment of up to 1,200 unemployed and states that to date 765 applications have been received.
Regarding the Incentive Plan for Labor Rehabilitation of Released Prisoners, with a budget of 4 million euros, for the recruitment of up to 200 unemployed, the Ministry states that to date 11 applications have been received.
Finally, the Ministry states that these Plans are implemented by the Labor Department of the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance and the detailed provisions, as well as the application process are posted on the Ministry's website: www.mlsi.gov.cy.
