It is difficult for 21% of Cypriots to heat their homes in 2020, compared to 8% in the European Union average, according to data released by Eurostat, the EU statistical office.
The situation varies considerably from Member State to Member State, according to a Eurostat statement.
In particular, the highest percentages of citizens who stated that they could not heat their homes enough in 2020 were recorded in Bulgaria (27%), followed by Lithuania (23%), Cyprus (21%) and Portugal and Greece (and two at 17%).
The lowest rates, around 2%, were recorded in Austria, Finland, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
