The 24-year-old was arrested yesterday by members of the Police
An eight-day detention order was issued today by the Nicosia District Court against a 24-year-old man, who was arrested yesterday by members of the Police, pursuant to a court warrant, in the context of an investigation into a case of burglary and theft.
According to announcement by the Police, the case concerns the burglary of a kiosk in the Nicosia district, which was committed early in the morning last Thursday, August 29.
It is noted that, according to the complaint submitted to the Police, from the kiosk was removed and was stolen from the cash register, the drawer with the money it contained, as well as a box of coins.
It is added that from the examinations carried out by members of the TAE Nicosia, evidence emerged against the 24-year-old suspect and against a warrant was issued for his arrest. The suspect was located and arrested by members of the Police, shortly after 6:00 yesterday evening.
It is reported that this morning, the 24-year-old was brought before the Nicosia District Court, which, at the request of the Police, issued order for his eight-day personal detention, for the purposes of police examinations.
The case is being investigated by the TAE of Nicosia, the announcement concludes.
