TRUST Insurance Cyprus, held on Thursday 31/8/2023 the 2nd annual event for the distribution of individual breathalyzer devices at the same time in all the cities of Cyprus as part of the Company's social offering initiative “A Breathalyzer In Every Vehicle”.
The action was carried out in collaboration with the Road Safety Council, and was carried out under the auspices of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafiadis, while it was also supported by the Parliamentary Committee on Transport through the presence of its president, Mr. Marinos Mousouttas.
Mr. Vafiadis, was at the point of information and distribution of individual breathalyzer devices in Nicosia, specifically on Ermou Street, where speaking to the media he underlined the importance, value and gravity of every effort to develop road awareness and especially against driving under the influence of alcohol . At the same time, he praised TRUST's initiative, which practically contributes to the fight to dry the blood on the asphalt.
The chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications and Works was also present in Nicosia, who for his part raised the issue of the position of the Minister of Transport, and like Mr. Vafiadis, Mr. Marinos Mousioutas also stated that the Committee is at TRUST's disposal for the achievement of the common goal which is none other than to save lives that are lost so unfairly on the asphalt.
Representing the Road Safety Council, Mr. Alexis Dimitriou, road safety ambassador, emphasized in the most obvious way how important a tool in the hands of every driver, as well as the person in a vehicle, is the personal breathalyzer device provided annually by TRUST, so that to save human lives. He thanked TRUST for the ground-breaking initiative it had undertaken and invited everyone to embrace it and make the most of it.
And Michalis Pavlidis, one of the co-founders of the NGO “Yparcho” for people with disabilities, also a road safety ambassador of the Road Safety Council, was at the side of TRUST, in Limassol, informing the public about the consequences of traffic collisions.
< p>On behalf of TRUST, the CEO of the Company, Mr. Christos Christodoulou, thanked all the institutions that were involved in the efforts to develop road awareness and create a new road culture in the context of which a habit that really saves lives is adopted, while at the same time he committed that TRUST not only does she not intend to stop her efforts but will intensify them for the benefit of society.
The 2nd annual event for the distribution of individual breathalyzer devices was held also thanks to the kind contribution of the Municipalities of Nicosia, Larnaca, Paphos and Paralimni, as well as the Cyprus Ports Authority who granted points within their jurisdiction (Ermou Street in Nicosia, Old Port in Limassol, pedestrian Mackenzie in Larnaca, Limanaki Paphos and Protaras Avenue in Paralimni) for setting up information and disposal points.
TRUST Insurance Cyprus aims to strengthen efforts to develop road awareness and culture, promoting self-checking as an act of responsibility which saves lives.
The Company's vision is, in the long term, for each vehicle to have an individual breathalyzer device, which will be available to the driver at all times. The device allows drivers to prove that they can drive safely for themselves, their passengers, and those around them.
These devices, state-of-the-art and with all the necessary certifications, are rechargeable , reusable and with multiple mouths, so that everyone has the possibility to include them in their road routine, like the belt and the helmet.
TRUST Insurance Cyprus will continue to make personal devices available on an annual basis, while will inform the public of any interim actions from its corporate social media.
