Around 35 amendments to the revised state budget for 2021 are put to a vote in the Plenary Session of the Parliament on Thursday, by the parliamentary parties.
Among the amendments most likely to pass is the suggestion to cut any spending in connection with the privatization / privatization of public bodies and state-owned enterprises, government departments and services. The amendment is submitted by the parties AKEL, DIKO, EDEK, Citizens' Alliance, Ecologists' Movement, Citizens' Cooperation and Democratic Forces Cooperation. Expenditures related to the project related to the development of the port and marina of Larnaca, the development of the Troodos area, the Cyprus Stock Exchange, as well as any operation concerning the Solidarity Fund are excluded from the cut.

With another amendment, the parties AKEL, DIKO, EDEK, Solidarity Movement and Environmental Movement propose a note for an expense of € 261,000,010 of the Ministry of Finance, so that after 50% of the total amount provided for the part concerning the operation Provision of Capital financing, amounting to € 5,000,000, no expenditure to be made for the remaining 50% without first informing the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget and securing its written consent. The purpose of the Fund is to finance small and medium-sized enterprises in order to fill the financial gap that exists in the financing of Cypriot enterprises, in relation to equity financing products.
With the amendment of AKEL, DIKO and the Movement of Ecologists, a suggestion is made for inserting a note, so that before any expenditure is made for the construction of specific roads, highways and junctions in Nicosia and Limassol, the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget is informed and its budget is finalized.
AKEL, EDEK and Solidarity also suggest the insertion of a note so that before any expenditure is made from the relevant budget for the part concerning credits of € 110,000 granted to the Holy Monastery of Stavrovouni, the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget is informed and its Budget . Other amendments tabled by individual parties concern, among other things, the cut of funds for the Ministry of Defense's participation in EU programs (AKEL), the reduction of funds and staff in the presidential guard by 25% (DIKO), the compensation of the President and Committee for the Exceptional Naturalization of Foreign Investors and Entrepreneurs and the payment of honorarium compensation (DIKO), the cut of sponsorships related to the attendance of T / C students residing in the occupied English School (EDEK), the control of benefits granted to the President of the Republic and the Speaker of the House of Representatives when they cease to function (Movement of Ecologists), the cutting of funds related to the management of illegal immigrants and asylum seekers, the opening of new barriers and barriers, (COME M).
