In an event held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in Nicosia, Cyta renewed the “Green Offices” certification for the 7th consecutive year and became the only Organization in Cyprus to achieve this for a total of 50 staffed buildings and customer service stores.
Certification presupposes, among other things, the reduction of the environmental impact of the Organization's business activities, the implementation and observance of strict criteria related to energy, water and paper consumption and waste management. The “Green Offices” program is managed by the environmental organization CYMEPA and is under the auspices of the Office of the Environment Commissioner.
Welcoming the event, the President of Cyta Mr. Michalis O. Ioannidis underlined that beyond its catalytic role in the digital transition of Cyprus, Cyta aspires to play a leading role in the country's green and energy transition, by drawing up a specific strategy for the future.
The CEO of the Organization, Mr. Andreas Neocleous, noted: “The certification of 50 Cyta buildings as Green Offices is a reward for our hard work and unceasing efforts. With the development of a Sustainable Development strategy and with technology at the tip of our spear, we want to become even better and achieve even more for our Organization, for our country and above all for the generation that will follow us”.< /p>
In the context of the event, Cyta honored the Commissioner of the Environment, Mrs. Clelia Vassiliou, for the very constructive cooperation throughout her tenure. The Commissioner referred to Cyta's leading role in environmental matters, in terms of the Agency's environmental management in a multitude of initiatives, partnerships and actions, noting, at the same time, the necessity of digital support for the beneficial implementation of the European Green Deal.
