The 67-year-old accused of the deadly fire in July in the provinces of Limassol and Larnaca, who left behind four dead and incalculable damages, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The accused was taken before the Limassol Criminal Court in the morning, where he was charged with fire in plantations and lighting a fire in the countryside, with him insisting on his innocence.
The process will continue on November 19, while the 67-year-old remains free on restrictive conditions.
It is recalled that he claims that on the morning of July 3 he had gone to his field, in the community of Arakapa, to water citrus and fruit trees and denies that he set any fire.
