Both volume and retail trade value rose in March on an annual basis.
However, according to the data of the Statistical Service, for the period January – March 2021, the value index is estimated to have decreased by 2.0% and the volume index increased by 0.5% compared to the same period of 2020, reflecting the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the data, the Retail Turnover Value Index increased in March 2021 by 8.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, while the Retail Turnover Volume Index increased by 10.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
