Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar said in a statement that the goal of the federation, with the sovereignty and continuation of the Republic of Cyprus, is to make the “Turks of Cyprus” a minority and for Turkey to leave the island.
Speaking yesterday during a meeting with a delegation from the Tsukurova Association, Tatars argued that Turkish Cypriots live safely in a “sovereign and legitimate state” and will not be able to become a minority after so much struggle, according to a report in the Turkish Cypriot newspaper Gunes. ».
He said that at this stage a two-state solution is needed on the basis of sovereign equality and that the “tdbk” always feels the support of the “motherland” of Turkey, as broadcast by the Press and Information Office.
He added that for years there are two states in Cyprus, reiterated the position that Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean are not the same as before and that there are two different nations with different religions and cultures in Cyprus. He also claimed that the policy they are implementing is in line with the realities in Cyprus.
According to Mr. Tatar, in Geneva, looking at the world, they said that they have “separate sovereignty and a separate state”. He argued that this stance had brought many benefits to the Turkish Cypriots and argued that the UN parameters for Cyprus should be reconsidered. “The secretary-general did not close the door,” he said.
Mr. Tatar also said that Turkish settlers should be allowed to cross the demarcated areas through the roadblocks, adding that he had raised the issue with President Anastasiadis.

Reiterating that Turkey 's support has strengthened the TRNC, Tatar said that energy reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean have strengthened the TRNC and upgraded its status.
Referring to the water pipeline from Turkey for irrigation purposes, Tatar described it as important and added that with these pipelines the water will reach the plains of Morphou and Mesaoria.
