Legendary singer-songwriter and Nobel laureate Bob Dylan is accused of seducing and sexually abusing a 12-year-old in 1965.

The woman in the lawsuit filed against Bob Dylan in New York claims that he gave her drugs and sexually abused her in 1965, when she was 12 years old.

The complainant with the initials JC, who is now 68 years old, states that Bob Dylan, then 23 or 24 years old, abused her for a period of six weeks in his room at the Chelsea Hotel in Greenwich Village, New York.

Lawyers for the complainant, who now lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, said the singer “formed an emotional bond” with her to “bend her suspensions for sexual abuse, an act she committed”.

According to the lawsuit, JC suffered permanent “severe psychological damage and emotional trauma” from the abuse.

As he complains, he suffers from depression, anxiety and disconnection.

The lawsuit does not specify the amount of compensation claimed by the complainant from the 80-year-old music legend and civil rights activist.

In a statement broadcast by NBC News, a Dylan spokesman said: “The allegation made 56 years later is untrue and will be strongly refuted.”
