A carnival note and a message of optimism in the difficult period of the restrictive measures, was brought for a while by the presence of last year's King “Limassol”, the maharaja of the city, in the streets of Limassol, which did not resemble anything earlier this year.

The King “Limassol”, embodied by the choreographer George Nikolaou, remains on his throne this year, after the decision of the Municipality of Limassol to cancel all the mass events of the Limassol Carnival, in the context of the implementation of the decrees.

Starting from the Wholesale Market, in the A 'Industrial area, the chariot with the King “Limassol”, toured, from 16:00 to 18:00, on main roads, such as Omonia Avenue, Makariou C' Avenue, the coastal road and Independence Street.

This was followed by the opening of the photography and cartoon exhibition at the Panos Solomonidis Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Cyprus Photographic Company – Limassol branch and the Association of Cypriot Cartoonists “GEL.A” and the “Cartoon and Sketch Laboratory”, respectively. The two exhibitions will be open to the public on March 5, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.

The painting exhibition was inaugurated today at the Limassol City Hall, in collaboration with the Association of Self-taught Painters, which will be open during the opening hours of the Municipality's offices.

Tomorrow, Friday, will be the first online screening, with the show “The icks were raised” (19:00), followed by, on Tuesday, March 9 (19:00), the online competition for a mask and smart attire.

On Friday, March 12 (19:00), the show “As if it was yesterday” will be broadcast online and on Saturday, March 13 (19:00), an online concert by the Cantadors.

The electronic links will be published on the pages of the Municipality of Limassol (www.limassolmliament.com.cy) and the Pattihio Theater (www.pattihio.com.cy) as well as on their Facebook pages.
