A 17-year-old was swept away by a passing vehicle, the driver left the scene

A 17-year-old was seriously injured when he appeared to be dragged by a passing vehicle whose driver left the scene.

According to the Police, the 17-year-old is said to have been walking off the street on the main avenue of Makarios, shortly before 3 in the morning when he was swept away by an unknown vehicle.

The 17-year-old was seriously injured and was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital where, according to the doctor on duty, he suffered a vertebral fracture.

Paphos Police are looking for the driver of the vehicle.

The Paphos Traffic Police is investigating the causes of the accident.
