A 40-year-old man, suspected of a child pornography case, was handcuffed by the Police today, following information received from Europol.
Specifically, the 40-year-old was arrested by members of the Cybercrime Prosecution Branch of the Police Headquarters, after information that a specific user of an account on a social networking platform, distributes child pornography material.
The 40-year-old was arrested this morning on a warrant for his arrest and was remanded in custody to facilitate investigations into an investigated case of the acquisition, possession and distribution of child pornography.
A search of his home in Limassol, based on a court warrant, turned up and confiscated a laptop and a mobile phone he was in possession of as evidence.
The suspect allegedly admitted to committing the offenses by making some allegations, which are being investigated.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Division continues the examinations.
