A 40-year-old man was detained for four days for an investigation of a restaurant burglary

In his statements, Steve Theodoulou, press representative of the Famagusta Police Department, said that “around 11:30 yesterday morning, the Police received information about a possible break-in at a restaurant in Paralimni, which is closed due to the winter season”

The District Court of Famagusta issued today a four-day detention order against a 40-year-old man to facilitate the Police's investigations regarding an investigated case of burglary, illegal possession of property and malicious damage in Paralimni.

In his statements Steve Theodoulou, the press representative of the Famagusta Police Department stated that “around 11.30 yesterday morning, the Police received information about a possible break-in at a restaurant in Paralimni, which is closed due to the winter season”.

“Members of The police of Famagusta and the Paralimni Police Station immediately went to the restaurant, where they located the 40-year-old inside the building,” he said.

He added that “in a search, carried out in a bag in his possession, various electronic devices were found devices, alcoholic beverages and tools, for which he did not give satisfactory explanations as to how they came into his possession”.

As Mr. Theodoulou said “the 40-year-old was arrested for the self-inflicted offense of illegal possession of property, while today he was brought before the District Court of Famagusta which issued a detention order against him for four days”.

The TAE of Famagusta is investigating the case.
