The earthquake that occurred early in the morning with the epicenter in the sea area northwest of Polis Chrysochous was felt throughout Cyprus. Specifically, according to the European Seismological Center, in the early hours of Tuesday 11 January and local time 03:07 an earthquake of magnitude M = 6.5 on the Richter scale was recorded. The earthquake focused on the sea area 57 km off Pegeia in Paphos and a focal depth of 51 km. So far there are no reports of injuries or damage from the strong vibration.
