A 71-year-old woman was run over by a vehicle while walking in Geroskipou. He suffered a pelvic fracture and a small head fracture, and is being treated at the Paphos General Hospital.
According to the press representative of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos Michalis Nikolaou, at 10:05 on the morning of May 4, a 32-year-old man was driving his vehicle on Griva Digeni Street in Geroskipou, heading towards the junction with Georgiou M. Savva Street.
After reaching the end of the junction controlled by an ALT signal, he turned right onto the street Georgiou Savvas to head north and under circumstances that are being investigated, hit and injured the 71-year-old pedestrian visitor from Greece, who was crossing from left to right, according to the direction of the vehicle.
The 71-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital where it was found that she had a pelvic fracture and a small head fracture, and was detained for further hospitalization in the operating room.
The state of her health, according to the treating doctors, does not inspire concern.
The driver of the vehicle was given a breathalyzer test with a zero reading.
The traffic accident is being investigated by the Paphos Traffic Police.
