Among ten dangerous products that have been identified on the European market during the week starting on 19/08/24, one has been identified on the Cypriot market by the Consumer Protection Service (YPK), which has proceeded with its seizure and withdrawal, according to a statement of the Service.
Stating that other of these products are likely to be on the Cyprus market and directly threaten the health and safety of consumers and especially children, the Service announced that it has started intensive checks on the market for any detection of the products.
According to the post on the website of the Service, the ten products are:
- Set with magnets ( consists of small magnetic balls of different colors, one card and one small black case) of unknown brand, with barcode F010702000001 and made in China, containing a risk of injury, puncture, infection or blockage due to the fact that the toy is made of small parts (balls
- FAMILY brand dress hat, model 58152, with barcode 5999117187054 and made in China, containing a risk of burns due to the high flammability of the hat. Dressing hat with hair brand Amscan, model AAI-TES-AW21HW060, with barcode 4895236202283 and made in China, containing a risk of burns due to the high flammability of the hair.
- Dressing hat with hair brand Amscan, model AAI-TES-AW21HW060, with barcode 4895236202283 and made in China, with a risk of burns due to the high flammability of the hair.
- IKEA brand glass glasses, POKAL models/27 cl., 35 cl., 65 cl. and of unknown country of manufacture, which contains a risk of injury due to the fact that the product is made of thermally hardened glass that may not adequately withstand thermal shock if scratched, for example by stacking, cleaning in the dishwasher and/or with abrasive sponges. This can cause the glass to break at its weakest point, causing injury.
- Abuytwo Brand Children's Swimming Vest with Cape and Adjustable Shoulder Straps, Model AB4301 and Country made in China, which contains a risk of suffocation and strangulation, due to the fact that the cape can become entangled during various activities of a child.
- Children's disguise mask covered with artificial fur brand Tedi, model DNP510 and made in China, which contains a risk of burns, due to the high flammability of the mask.
- Children's disguise masks in animal shape with synthetic fur (dog, lion, mouse) brand DETTY, model HY93-8, with barcode 7899858759382 and made in China, containing a risk of burns due to the high flammability of the mask.
- Children's mask in the shape of a lion with synthetic fur, brand FunDrag, model 636652, with barcode 8422017636652 and made in China, containing a risk of burns, due to the high flammability of the mask.
- Childrens for bathing unknown brand, model 300540305-673074324, with 6938641383234 and with an unknown country of manufacturing, containing a drowning risk due to material weakness in the aid and absence of warnings about active supervision, product: CE mark, EU declaration of conformity, information provided by the manufacturer, basic health and safety requirements).
- Children's dress of unknown brand (age 0-7 years) and with country of manufacture Madagascar, which contains a risk of injury from the presence of free ends (belt) in the waist area of the garment, the length of which is longer than allowed.
