The Police arrested a 21-year-old resident of Paphos today, to facilitate the investigations regarding an investigated case of threats, illegal possession and transportation of firearms and explosives and carrying weapons to incite terror.
The case was reported to the Police by the receptionist of a nightclub in Paphos. According to the complainant, around 3 A.M. today, unknown persons had a fight inside the night club where he works. With the intervention of the center's security guards, those involved were expelled from the center. On their way out, one of those involved allegedly approached the complainant and made threats against his life.
A few minutes later, at around 3.30am, while the complainant was at the entrance of the nightclub, heard four gunshots, which appeared to come from a car parked nearby. After the shots were fired, the vehicle left the area at breakneck speed.
Police patrols immediately went to the scene. During the investigations, a young man, who was outside the nightclub, was pointed out to the police as the person who expressed threats against the complainant.
As it was established, he is a 21-year-old resident of Paphos. A judicial arrest warrant was issued against him, pursuant to which he was arrested and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
The Paphos Police Department is investigating the case.
