A forest fire that broke out at 16:53 on Tuesday in the Livadi area of the Lythrodonda community was brought under complete control at 17:45 after burning an area of five decares covered with pines, bushes and low wild vegetation.
According to an announcement by the Forestry Department, 22 people from the Forestry Department tried to extinguish the fire with 6 fire engines, 1 agricultural tractor and 1 tanker. The Forestry Department's operation was attended by the Fire Service with 3 people and 1 fire truck and 4 volunteers from the Lythrodonda community.
The causes of the incident are being investigated in collaboration with the Police.
