Mayor of Limassol Nikos Nicolaidis and Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova expressed their determination for cooperation in various fields, focusing on their participation in the European mission of 100 climate neutral and smart cities, in the context of signing a memorandum of cooperation .
According to an announcement by the Municipality of Limassol, the Bulgarian capital was visited, on the two days of June 8 and 9, by a delegation from the Municipality, together with the Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor of the Cyprus University of Technology as well as a representative of EVEL.
The Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova, it is added, welcomed the members of the delegation of the Municipality of Limassol, declaring the readiness of the municipal Authority to lay solid foundations for a productive partnership.
"The centuries-old ties of our countries are sealed with a constructive cooperation with bright prospects for a common, sustainable future" stated, moreover, the Mayor of Limassol, during the signing of the memorandum of cooperation, which is centered on the European mission of 100 climate-neutral and smart cities, in which the two Municipalities participate.
In the context of the discussions of the representatives of the Municipality of Limassol and the Municipality of Sofia, there was an exchange of experiences and good practices on the issues of the 100 cities mission, such as Sustainable Urban Mobility, the Circular Economy and Energy, as well as consultations at a political and technocratic level on issues that relate to the areas of cooperation of the two Municipalities.
During the visit, the TEPAK delegation held a meeting with representatives of the Sofia University of Technology, in the context of the participation of the two institutions in the European University of Technology (Eut+), as and a tour of the Sofia Technology Park.
The program of the visit also included a meeting with the Sofia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during which issues of innovation, entrepreneurship and tourism were discussed.
