As stated in a relevant announcement, the Social Welfare Services of the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare have from the very beginning been in full cooperation with the Police in relation with the investigated case of sexual abuse of minor girls who are under the Legal Care of the Director of Social Welfare Services.

A Report of Facts has already been requested, so that further actions can be decided.
“At the same time in constant consultation with the Police for the completion of the investigations, while officers of the YKE are with the minors every day”, it is emphasized.
In addition, the Social Welfare Services have referred the case to the Children's Home, so that appropriate procedures are followed to investigate the case with due care and protection and support of the children through the inter-agency and multi-disciplinary management provided.
The handling and actions of the Social Welfare Services aim at the same time to safeguard the process and to protect the rights of the children in question, but also more broadly of the children under the Legal Care of the Director of the Social Welfare Services in terms of their exposure and stigmatization.
