“A request has not yet been sent to the Turkish military by the three-member Investigative Committee on Missing Persons for the year 2023,” said Hakki Muftuzade, the acting member of the Investigative Committee on Missing Persons. .

“Kibris Postasi” reports that according to Mr. Muftuzade, information that the Turkish army “has not yet responded to a request for permits requested by the Commission for excavations in military zones for 2023 does not correspond to the truth.”

He said that excavations are carried out in 10 military zones every year, but a request has not yet been sent to the military by the three-member Commission of Inquiry on Missing Persons for the year 2023. He added that the work on the excavation areas approved for 2022 is proceeding smoothly.

Mr. Muftuzadeh also stated that “there is no way that entry will not be allowed to any of the excavation areas”.
