A spiral of burglars was dismantled in Paphos - And 5th arrest

A 26-year-old resident of Paphos province was arrested at midnight by the Police, in order to facilitate the investigations into investigated cases of burglary and theft, illegal possession of property, synergy after the commission of a crime and illegal possession of drugs. Around 12.35am, members of the Paphos Police Department, as part of a crime prevention patrol, stopped a car driven by a 26-year-old resident of Paphos province, against whom an arrest warrant was pending.

The arrest of the 26-year-old is the fifth arrest in the specific cases, after four other people were arrested in the previous days to facilitate the investigations.

The first four arrested were located and arrested on January 2, during a search of a house in Paphos. The investigation was carried out on the basis of a court warrant, after information that persons residing there were wanted for burglary cases, including the 26-year-old, as well as that stolen property may be found in the specific house.

When the police entered the house, two 19-year-olds, a 27-year-old and a 17-year-old were located and arrested by court warrants. A physical search of one of the two 19-year-olds turned up a quantity of methamphetamine, two mobile phones and a telephone charger, believed to be stolen items.

Also in a physical search carried out on the second 19-year-old, the amount of € 490 was found, while from a search of his car, a computer, two radios, two mobile phones and an electronic data storage device were found and confiscated.

On January 3, the four detainees were brought before the Paphos District Court for a detention order. The court issued eight-day detention orders against the first 19-year-old and three-day detention for the other three.
