Compensations amounting to € 2.5 million will be granted to a total of 875 eligible farmers after yesterday's decision of the Council of Ministers, following a proposal by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.

The compensations refer to the damages caused by the adverse weather conditions from 2018 to April 2019, both to crops and fixed capital of agricultural holdings, as well as to those caused by the fires in Pachna, Kissousa and Malia in 2019 and in Achna and Prastio Avdimou in 2020.

Compensation will also be granted to the beneficiaries for the damage caused to various plantations in the wild in 2020, while aid will be given for the creation of a protective fence on the crops of the affected areas.

At the same time, with the aim of the immediate relief of the affected farmers, YGAAP aims, until April of this year, to proceed with the granting of compensations related to damages to various plantations of the growing season 2019-2020.

For the damages caused by the adverse weather conditions during the period October 2018 – April 2019, in fixed capital of agricultural holdings through the Revised National Framework 122 will be compensated in the amount of € 550,000, for the losses of the year 2018 through the Revised National Framework will 540 victims will be compensated with the amount of € 1,350,000, for the damages from fires in Pachna – Kissousa – Maliatou in the year 2019 through the Fire Frame 30 people will be compensated with the amount of € 50,000 and for the Plan for fencing in order crop protection – applications for the year 2020 will be compensated 15 people in the amount of € 70,000. Furthermore, for damages caused by the adverse weather conditions of the period October 2018 – April 2019, in a fixed capital of agricultural holdings will be compensated 66 victims in the amount of 100,000, for the damages caused by extreme weather events to growers who were not applicants for the CAP. year 2019 will be compensated 5 people in the amount of € 20,000, for damage caused by extreme weather events in various crops in 2018 are compensated 60 people in the amount of € 250,000, pending damage from natural disasters and adverse climatic phenomena in the year 2016 a person with the amount of € 6,526.80, for damages caused by the wild for the year 2020, 6 people with the amount of € 15,000 and for damages caused by the fires that broke out in the communities of Achna and Prastio Avdimos in the year 2020 30 people with the amount of € 50,000. In total, 168 people will be compensated in the amount of € 441,526.80.
