The Apollon Football Company (Public) Ltd in collaboration with the big sponsor of our team, the company Stoiximan, proceeded to a social responsibility move by offering a check to the standard day center “Apostolos Loukas”.
A delegation of the Apollon Football Company (Public) Ltd consisting of the marketing manager Mr. Koula Stavrinidou and the head of the Commercial Department Mr. George Georgiadis accompanied the Country Manager of the sponsor company Stoiximan to the center and handed over the 5,000 Parents of Adults with Mental Disability “Apostolos Loukas” Mr. Andreas Panagiotou.
On behalf of our football team were present the Cypriot international football players Charalambos Kyriakou and Ioannis Pittas and Isra Col.
The excitement, joy and smiles of the people served in the center when they met the footballers and the delegation of the two companies, best reward we could feel.
After the modest ceremony, Mr. Panagiotou, after guiding the representatives of the two companies, stated:
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Management and the 54 served people of our Association, we would like to express our warm thanks to the betting company Stoiximan and Apollon Limassol, for their touching and full of humanity initiative to visit us at the Model Center. of our Association and to offer the amount of 5000 euros, as support for the efforts of erecting a privately owned structure of a Supported Living House and a Short Hospitality Program of our Association in the area of Nea Ekali in Limassol. A few words about the center “Apostle Luke”
The center was founded in 2000 in Limassol and operates in the context of adult education and employment which has as its main objectives the social integration and vocational rehabilitation of the people it serves in a daily employment program.
The Association serves a total of 54 adults, who are divided into seven different groups depending on their skills, abilities and status. The patients belong to the range of moderate and mild mental disability and present various diagnoses such as Down Syndrome, Autism or autistic characteristics, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, etc.
The financial support of the institution will essentially help the Association to successfully complete the second residence which will host on a 24-hour basis five adults from next September.
Among other things, the Association has developed and is implementing five programs through which it aims to avoid the risk of institutionalization, social inclusion and integration of people with intellectual disabilities, vocational rehabilitation, protection and exercise of their rights and obligations within the society and the upgrading of the quality of life of individuals.
Services included in the association's programs include transportation and handling, food, accommodation, education, sports, treatments and the care of those served in general.
