The Consumer Protection Service announced the issuance of an administrative decision and the imposition of a fine of € 30,000, against the company EFT Eurofurniture Traders IMP-EXP Ltd (Polihome) for violation of the Law on Consumer Rights.
More specifically, the Decision was issued on the occasion of a specific complaint against the Company by a consumer and following an investigation conducted by the Authorized Service, for specific practices and / or company policy.
Upon completion of the investigation conducted by the Authorized Service and based on the information available to it, the following violations were identified by the Company:
(a) Violation of article 8 (1) and (2) of the Law, as the Company did not provide consumers with the right to withdraw from the remote contract within fourteen (14) days.
(b) Violation of article 10 (3) of the Law, as the Company failed to inform the consumer about the receipt of his request for withdrawal.
(c) Violation of article 12 (1) and (2) of the Law, as the Company refused to return the price paid within fourteen (14) days from the consumer's decision to withdraw from the contract.
(d) Violation of article 13 (1) of the Law, as the Company provided incorrect information to consumers regarding the deadline for product return in case of withdrawal.
(e) Violation of article 13 (2) of the Law, as the Company provided incorrect information to a consumer regarding the reduction of the value of the products, as a result of their management.
