The new AEGEAN and CAE Training Center is expected to be operational by the end of 2023 and will be the most technologically upgraded and modern aviation training hub in Southeast Europe. In the first stage of development the Training Center will have four flight simulators, including two Airbus A320neo, one Boeing 737NG and one ATR 72-600, as well as cabin crew training equipment, while it foresees the installation of three additional simulators. At full development, the center will be able to train up to 3,500 pilots a year (42,000 training hours) and many times that number of cabin crew.

With a total area of 85,000 m2 the first modern ecosystem of air transport support services in Greece will fill a significant gap in infrastructure at the local level for third party support services through two main parallel activities:

• The aircraft maintenance function, with the development and gradual staffing of the technical base, with a final capacity of up to 10 heavy maintenance, repairs and checks for various types of aircraft.
• The development of the Flight Simulators and Crew Training Center with an investment in a total of 7 state-of-the-art flight simulators, which will cover training needs for Airbus, ATR and Boeing aircraft, as well as the creation of facilities for carrying out special cabin crew training.

The already existing Olympic Air Engineering Training School, with a strong operating tradition, will also join the same ecosystem, as well as the AEGEAN Pilot Training Organization, which is already operating.

At the same time, the investment foresees the energy upgrade of the building facilities, through the placement of 35,000 m2 photovoltaic panels, 3 MW power, on the building shell, with the aim of meeting their energy needs and creating one of the first “green” hangars in Europe. inside one of the greenest airports in Europe.
