Oliveira successfully filled the void left by Muriel
Muriel Becker's injury gave Miguel Oliveira the opportunity to make his first appearance in the league with the AEL shirt as a starter and his 3rd overall of the season.
The Portuguese goalkeeper, he played in the starting line-up and in the cup match with Hermes, while he made another appearance in the league match against Omonia when Muriel was injured and took his place at half-time.
His sample so far is considered positive, since in the match against Karmiotissa, he was there whenever needed and managed to keep his team's goal intact. The truth is, there was… concern in the world of blue and yellow about whether Oliveira could fill Becker's big void. After all, the Brazilian, after his bad start, has now developed into a “key” player for AEL, having given important points with his saves.
Oliveira therefore met the requirements and showed that he can him to help whenever needed. He will remain under the posts until Muriel overcomes his injury, who is clearly the first choice for this position. Janevski, since it is the best thing for a coach to have at his disposal a strong duo of goalkeepers.
AEL is waiting for a very difficult game, next Sunday against Nea Salamina away from home, and Oliveira should presented himself again ready to help his team get the three points that will put them firmly back in the top six.
