A letter of reply from the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Savva Perdio, was received by the Paphos MP of DIKO, Chrysanthos Savvidis, regarding the letter he sent on April 12 regarding the presentation of the results of the study for the Paphos marina. “In his relevant letter, the Undersecretary points out that he has already proceeded with the procedures for planning the presentation of the results of the study, to all the bodies of Paphos, immediately after Easter”, Mr. Savvidis stressed. “We wish all of us to proceed with the procedures for an issue that has plagued our province for decades, since it is one of the most important development projects and is expected to give impetus to the economic, commercial and tourist development of the place.”/p>

The study commissioned in the summer of 2021 by the consortium Deloitte Ltd and Triton Consulting Engineers S.A., for the combined development of the Paphos marina was completed and delivered several days ago to the Ministry of Tourism, with provincial officials complaining about the delay in informing them. .
The Ministry of Tourism claims that there is nothing to be announced yet as it will have to be presented to the Council of Ministers first for decisions. Confirming this fact, the president of EBE Paphos, George May, stated that in the meantime there could be even the first and unofficial information of the Paphos institutions about the findings of the study. The Paphos marina was decided to be built at the Potima site of Kissonerga, on the coastal avenue of Coral Bay, and is now characterized by all Paphos institutions as the most typical example of a project that while everyone is talking about the need to promote large development projects, in the economic, commercial and tourist development of the place and at the same time will contribute positively in the field of employment, however its implementation remains unjustifiably stagnant.
