Joint statement of AKEL MEPs – “Our grief and pain for the victims of the deadly earthquake”
Their deep sorrow and their undivided support to our fellow human beings in Turkey and Syria, express through their statement the AKEL MEPs.
They also note that “our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the thousands of injured caused by the deadly earthquake”.
“Our hearts”, they continue, “share the same concern and anguish as our Turkish Cypriot compatriots for the fate of the Turkish Cypriot students who were on a school trip in Turkey”.
“We send a message of hope for their identification, we wish them courage and express our undivided solidarity with their families. These children are ours”, they add.
“The least Cyprus has to do is act with humanitarian reflexes in the face of this tragedy. We also call on the international community to show practical solidarity in the earthquake-affected areas by sending all the necessary means as quickly as possible”, they underline finally.
