For dramatic situation at Famagusta Hospital, due to understaffingof several departments that puts patients at risk says AKEL, through the mouth of the MP Giannakis Gabriel, who at the same time informs that his party will register an issue as soon as the Parliament opens.
In his written statement, he states that in recent years AKEL has highlighted the problems in the operation of the Famagusta General Hospital, due to understaffing and the lack of appropriate and necessary medical equipment.
The situationbut at the moment, he emphasizes, it is burdened and due to the increased attendance of patients due to the summer season, it seems to be at a limit in terms of the quality of the medical services provided.< /p>
“The long delays observed in the service of patients for diagnostic tests, treatments and surgeries, immediately endanger the health of patients. Additionally, they bring about professional burnoutof the medical and paramedical staff, who work under intense pressure”.
Mr. Gabriel even states that he is aware that the situation is borderline in most departments of the Hospital. In particular, as he adds, in the Department of Accidents and Emergencies, the long waiting that is observed makes it difficult to impossible to deal with emergencies immediately and effectively.
“Unfortunately, the attitude of OKYpY to date does not help to solve the problems.
