Alamba Fresh Milk inaugurated its state-of-the-art factory on Tuesday, September 5, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis.
The event, which was attended by more than 500 guests, was attended by personalities from the political and business world, as well as Alambra Fresh Milk partners.
In his speech, the CEO of Alambra Fresh Milk, Mr. Giorgos Petrou, made a brief historical review of the company, making a special mention of his mother, grandmother Kakoullou, from whose hands, as he said, “our inspiration for our industry”. Mr. Petrou also expressed his pride in the new fresh milk bottling unit, promising that “we will continue to grow, promote the Cypriot tradition, open new jobs, with respect, honesty and love for consumers, the employees, the environment and all our partners”.
The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, also addressed the event, underlining the evolution of the Petrou family, saying that “for over 40 years, since 1982, tirelessly and always with love, it has produced its own pure dairy products on paper”. Mr. Christodoulidis also added that “Alhambra Dairy carried out the first halloumi export in 1988 and for the last 15 years has held a leading position in PDO Halloumi production, with a presence in 40 countries”. The President of the Republic also noted that the company collects milk from more than 400 milk producers in free Cyprus and “is the largest processor of fresh milk for cheese making”.
For her part, the Speaker of the Parliament Mrs. Annita Dimitriou referred mainly to the contribution of the Petrou family to the economy of Cyprus, characterizing Alhambra Dairy as an important organization for the Cypriot economy, which “successfully promotes our history and culture abroad” . In addition, he emphasized the fact that the company owns more than 30% of the total exports of Authentic Cypriot Halloumi, with a production that exceeds 10,000 tons per year. In addition, he focused on the contribution of the dairy industry to the protection of the environment and the saving of natural resources for the green economy, through the construction and operation of a privately owned innovative biological plant in its state-of-the-art facilities.
Speaking during the opening ceremony and on the occasion of the launch of ALAMBRA fresh Cypriot milk, the Commercial Director of Alambra Fresh Milk, Mr. Michalis Petrou, said that “With a beacon of our tradition and dedicated to our goal of producing quality products, we are moving forward one step further”. Referring to the facilities, Mr. Petrou underlined that the fresh Cypriot milk ALAMBRA “is produced in a state-of-the-art factory, with an investment of 10 million euros and European-standard, state-of-the-art equipment, which, while respecting the environment, guarantees its constant quality and freshness” . “We are particularly proud of our new beginning and of the fact that today ALAMBRA is the only Cypriot brand with a full range of products, which includes cheese, dairy, natural juices and herbal drinks”, he added.
The goal, as underlined by Mr. Petrou, is for Alhambra Dairy to continue offering consumers quality pure products, studying and following the trend of the modern consumer. It is noted that the Alhambra Fresh Cypriot Milk line consists of Full, Light, Skimmed, Lactose Free and Full or Light.
The event concluded with the inauguration of the new factory, while a reception followed for all the guests, with an artistic program by the music group Angelos Augusti – Maria Theodotou & Friends.
