The President of the Republic chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers – The new composition of the Council of the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Study Titles and the replacement in THOK – The new President of DEFA and the new entry of a member
The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, presided over a meeting of the Council of Ministers today, at the Presidential Palace.
After the meeting, the Government Spokesman Mr. Konstantinos Letymiotis told the journalists that “the Council of Ministers decided today the appointment of the new Council of the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Study Titles, which will be composed of the following people:< /p>
Konstantinos Christou as President, Georgios Hatzigeorgiou as Vice President, Agi Papadopoulos as member, Spyro Pavlos Stathis as member, Theodosios Zachariadis, Konstantinos Georgiou as representative of the Ministry of Education, Lambrini Lambrou as member of KYSATS, representative of the Office of the General Prosecutor of the Republic.

The need for the appointment of the said Council, as stated in the announcement of the Presidency, arises due to the expiration of the term of office of the existing Council. The appointment of the members is for three years.
Also, the Council of Ministers decided to appoint the following persons to the positions of President and member of the Board of Directors of DEFA, as follows: George Asiikalis, Electrical Engineer, as President and Konstantinos Danos, Chemical Engineer, as a member.
Also, Andreas Appios as a member of the Board of Directors of the Theatre Organization of Cyprus, to replace a member who submitted his resignation.
It is recalled that on August 5, the Council of Ministers decided on the selection of the above persons who emerged as known through the open process of the Advisory Council on said positions, after having established that based on their CVs, copies of which were submitted to the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, notified to the House of Representatives, and will also be made public, they meet the terms and conditions set forth in said laws. For the above proposed appointments, the Council of Ministers has already informed the House of Representatives with the letter of the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, dated August 13, 2024″.
