The proposal of the Ministry of Education for the definition of the framework for the granting of student allowances, which will be essentially based on last year's framework, will soon be submitted to the Council of Ministers. Specifically, the framework of the social criteria that will be taken into account for the granting of student allowances is defined, while the allowances that will be granted for the granting of specific needs are determined.
Also, the scoring system of the applications that will be submitted for the granting of student allowances is determined, based on which economic, property and social criteria are calculated, the total amount that will be allocated as well as the amount of the amount that will be granted for each allowance. Applications will be evaluated based on a scoring system that counts the economic and social criteria, until the available credits of each academic year are exhausted.

It should be noted that the scoring of the social and economic situation of the family of the applicants will be done if all the provisions of the law on State Care are met. The application will be scored with the aim of ranking the eligible applicants. According to the proposal of the Ministry of Education, the financial support will cover the student's expenses for an academic year. The maximum amount for the annual food allowance is set at € 1,092, the living allowance amounts to € 1,800, the allowance for freshmen is € 500 and the airfare allowance is set at € 200. It is worth noting that in order to be granted the living allowance, the educational institution in which the student attends must be at least 30 kilometers away from the permanent residence of his family.
The air ticket purchase allowance will be granted only to students studying at universities abroad. It is reminded that the families of students where their last year's family income does not exceed € 39 thousand (with two dependent children) have the right to submit an application for securing student allowances. For families with more dependent children, the annual gross family income can exceed € 55 thousand.
