Donation of equipment from the Bank to the Evaluation and Intervention Center of the Association of Rare Genetic Diseases
Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd, fully aware of its role and responsibility, responds in practice to the needs of Cypriot society, contributing in every way to its support. In this direction and in the context of the World Day of Rare Diseases on February 28, the Bank supports the Pancypriot Association of Rare Genetic Diseases “Unique Smiles” by offering the necessary equipment for the purposes of the educational programs it implements at the Multi-Thematic Assessment and Intervention Center.
The Multidisciplinary Assessment and Intervention Center, “Unique Smiles” started its operation in September 2021 with the aim of providing services aimed at improving both the physical and mental health of children with rare diseases as well as supporting their families. The purpose of the Center is to ensure that every child has access to high-quality specialized treatments with a substantial benefit for the children and their families, regardless of their financial situation. It is worth noting that it is the first time that a Center has been created in Cyprus with the aim of providing services to children and young adults up to 21 years of age by an interdisciplinary team, under the same roof.
The services of the Center in currently cover infants/toddlers/children with: rare genetic diseases, neurodevelopmental abnormalities under investigation, learning difficulties, developmental disorders, psycho-emotional difficulties, hearing impairment and visual impairment.
