The Inspector General of the Army is the investigating officer who will investigate the circumstances under which the fatal car accident occurred in a camp of the National Guard with the victim being a 27-year-old SYOP.
At the same time, the Minister of Defense and the Commander of the National Guard visited the camp where the accident took place in the morning, while the funeral of the unfortunate SYOP will become a public expense with a proposal that is forwarded to the Council of Ministers.
Specifically, in statements to KYPE, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense Christos Pieris said that since yesterday he has been appointed by the Chief of the National Guard (LF), Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, the Inspector General will be investigate the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
He added that the death investigation has been undertaken by the Larnaca Police Department which will demonstrate the circumstances under which the fatal unfortunate S. In addition, he stated that the Minister of Defense, Charalambos Petridis, together with the Chief of the Armed Forces, went to the camp at 9.00 this morning to be informed on the spot by the investigating officer about the first impressions and indications that exist for the accident.
