The Municipality of Nicosia reminds that Anastasiou G. Leventi Street, in Nicosia, will be closed for work from Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 08.30 and for a period of about 5 months, urging drivers to be careful and follow the traffic signals.
As mentioned in an announcement of the Municipality, the works will be carried out in the context of the renovation of the Commercial Triangle Makarios – Stasikratous – Evagorou – Phase B '.
The project implements the provisions / actions of the Integrated Mobility Plan of Nicosia and the Area Plan of the Center of Nicosia to promote sustainable transport, enhance sustainable mobility in the urban area of Nicosia and reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions.
Among other things, the project includes the installation of a holistic system “smart city”, owned by the Municipality of Nicosia. The project will result in the aesthetic and functional creation of a single space, an external “shopping center”.
The project, the announcement concludes, is co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund, the State Budget and the Municipality of Nicosia in the framework of the Programming Period 2014-2020, Operational Program: Competitiveness and Sustainable Development 2014-2020, – Specific Objective: Improving mobility mainly in the urban area of Nicosia, – Axis 5: Promotion of Sustainable Transport and Reduction of Carbon Dioxide Emissions.
