The two footballers so far are not counted even if they are normally on the team's payroll
Even if Eric Sambo and Kiko maintain a cooperation contract with Anorthosis, they are not counted by the coach who has not selected them in any match so far, even to be in the team. In fact, during the summer, the two footballers were informed that they were not in the plan of David Gaiego and Antonio Prieto. On top of that, the management of Anorthosis had conveyed to the two footballers the fact that they should look for the next stage of his career.
On the other hand, Sambo had proposals from Turkey and in fact with more money compared to what he receives in Anorthosis, but for family reasons he refused them, while Kiko attracted the interest of Nea Salamina and Karmiotissa, with neither of the two teams covering the whole his contract, with the result that any transfer will not proceed. As a result, the football players remained on the team's roster, but are not counted. In practice, Anorthosis is expected to spend an amount of approximately 400 thousand for the two footballers, without receiving anything substantial from them. It is not something unheard of, nor unusual in the field of football, but it does not cease to be a significant burden for the administration. Certainly in January there will be a new effort to find a solution with the two and continue their careers elsewhere so that the team can be released from their contracts, and save a significant amount that can be put to much better use. At the same time, as we noted earlier, the two of them are training normally with the rest of the team, and are at the disposal of David Gaiego if he deems it necessary to utilize them.
