It's been 16 years since Anorthosis qualified for the Champions League, which was the first Cypriot team to do so !
It was 27/08/2008 when the “Grand Lady” of Cypriot football was facing Olympiakos Piraeus in Greece at “Georgios Karaiskakis” in the replay of the 3-0 victory at “Antonis Papadopoulos” for the playoffs of the Champions League.
Anorthosis may have lost 1-0 in the game in question, but the 3-0 in the first match gave them qualification to the groups, that defeat being the sweetest in their history.
