In a post, the lawyer Agis Georgiadis reveals that he will not be on the AKEL ballot in Paphos for the Parliamentary Elections. “I was informed,” he says, “that the election conference is over and I am out of the ballot.”
Mr. Georgiadis thanks those who nominated him as a candidate for Member of Parliament and especially Michalis Asiotis and Andreas Fakontis. He remains loyal to the principles of the Left and active statehood and is ready to face the teasing of his friends with humor.
Given that Agis Georgiadis was left out, the AKEL ballot paper in Paphos will consist, according to information, of Costas Mavromatis, Vangelis Stylianou, Maria Papalazarou and Valentino Fakontis.
It is recalled that Marios Ignatiou was also left out of the conference because he did not meet the criteria set by the AKEL Politburo for all those interested.
Two ballot boxes were set up in Paphos yesterday. One in Polis Chrysochous and the 2nd in Paphos. A total of 200 party members and executives took part in the vote.
The fact that Agis Georgiadis was left out of the ballot is a surprise and a reversal as he was considered by the favorites and the strong cards of AKEL in Paphos.
