Scenarios for the lineup ahead of Aris
APOEL are turning their attention to the very crucial game of the upcoming Monday (2/12 – 19:00) with Aris at GSP for the 12th match of the championship.
The “blue and yellow” want at all costs to return to winning results and take advantage of the points losses that will result from Pafos-Omonia. Manolo Jimenez's team goes into Monday's match with high morale, a result of the big double in Norway. APOEL wants to create a positive momentum again by aiming exclusively for three points against Spilevski's team, which will go to the GSP with demands. It is a difficult mission for APOEL who are called upon to present themselves ready and consistent, so as to win the first of the many “final” they have to give in the championship.
In terms of the match, Manolo Jimenez will have increased options for the match against Aris. Corbu, Drazic and Pizzi will be available again, while Konstantinov is also likely to be in the squad. On the other hand, the suspended Petrovic is not counted, as are El Arabi and Sarfo.
The Spanish coach is expected to restore the formation with the four in defense, making some changes to the lineup, which has some question marks.
Belets will be under the posts, with Dvali and Laifi composing the defensive duo. Guidilla will play on the left wing of defense, and one of Susic or Cepak on the right.
Pizzi and Sacias are vying for the position in the midfield next to Tejera and Abania. If Mr. Jimenez decides to go with a more conservative midfield that will have more running, then he will choose Sacias who made a very good appearance in Norway.
As for the two positions on the wings, one is “occupied” by Tasos Donis while the other will be claimed by Endongala and Marquinhos. Stefan Drazic will be the spearhead of APOEL in the derby, with the Serbian striker looking to find the net for the 4th time in this year's championship.
