APOEL's new stadium in Kokkinotrimithia will have excellent acoustics. The architectural plan drawn up foresees that the stands will be quite vertical and will be placed very close to the playing field.

“The stands have been placed very close to the playing field, they are quite inclined and the quality vision is much higher than UEFA standards. An analytical study of each position has been carried out. The corners of the pitch are semi-sloped so that they too have a better view. The acoustics of the stadium with the most vertical stands creates a very hot seat, the Cauldron effect or otherwise a furnace”, noted the civil engineer and project manager of APOEL's privately owned stadium, Mikis Ioannou, at the press conference.

When the stands of a stadium are more vertical, the sound performance is better. This happens because the sound is reflected and diffused better on more vertical surfaces, while the canopy also helps to further enhance the acoustics.

The term “Cauldron Effect” means cauldron in Greek and refers to the “hot” atmosphere that is created in football seats. The “blue and yellow” will have such a “hot” atmosphere in their new home, which will not be compared to the atmosphere they create at GSP as the decibels will be many times higher in the new stadium due to the architectural structure of the stadium, which in fact it will have as its biggest grandstand the horseshoe of the organized ones.
