APOEL: With a proven recipe against the Serbs

Sa Pinto seems to have settled in the main body and also in the eleven of the first match against Vojvodina

A key component of APOEL's great European successes, especially during the Ivan Jovanovic era, was the homogeneity of the team which, in the qualifying rounds, was based on a very large percentage of footballers, most of who were in the team last season as well.

From what (little) we have seen of the Blues' new coach, Ricardo Sa Pinto seems to have the same philosophy. The Portuguese coach knows very well that it is very important at this stage not to take a risk with many changes in the eleven in relation to how he completed last year's obligations.

The Iberian coach seems to have settled in main body of APOEL but also in the eleven of the first match against Vojvodina, which will be held at GSP on Thursday, July 27 (20:00).

We are referring to the eleven that started in Saturday's friendly (3-1) against Doxa in Peristerona.

Belets was in goal. Susic played in his natural right back position and Vital played on the left side of the defence. The central defensive duo were Crespo, Dvali.

Last year's trio lined up in the midfield. Konstantinov played as a blocking midfielder, as an “eight” Sarfo (became more aggressive) and Dalsio in a more free role, behind the striker.

At the top of the attack played team captain Giorgi Kvilitaia and at both ends, Fetfatzidis and Eduardo Wilson.

This line-up is expected to be seen in the final rehearsal before the match against the Serbs, in the friendly against Volos at GSP, next Thursday, July 20 (20:00) .

The Portuguese coach, after reaching his main options in this important phase, will work in the ten days before the start of the new year, issues related to his tactics, seeking to achieve “automations” that will APOEL more effective and substantial.
