The questions about the derby with AEK
The Sunday (30/04) derby against AEK is the match of the year for Apollon, who wants the three points to continue hoping for a European ticket. As we wrote again, the Limassol team does not face new problems in terms of the competition, with the biggest absence being that of Bogdan Antone. The vacancy of the Romanian coach will be filled by Marco Barun, however the interest now turns to the players who will be selected in the starting formation against the “yellow and green”.
The truth is that we don't expect many changes from the 48-year-old technician, but even so… there are some question marks. The first has to do with the readiness of Peppers, who left the game against Paphos with discomfort. The French stopper trained normally after the match of the previous matchday and although the odds are on his side, it is better to keep a butt. In case he is not considered completely ready, then Ekpolos will take his place, with Mavrias playing as right back (and Filiotis on the left).
From there, Sahar's stay in the starting lineup should not be considered certain. The Israeli played as a starter under the instructions of Mr. Antone for the first time, but was unable to make a difference. We clarify that according to today's data, the scenario of Sahar staying on the bench seems to be the most likely, but the possibility of any surprise should not be ruled out. Besides, the fact that the Israeli was key in the previous one… that was also a surprise!
