Apollo: Ward's Time

Must read

The Egyptian winger surely has much more to give

He is for many the top footballer of last year's championship, although he had given his credentials much earlier, competing in Greece for six years. Again, we don't need to say much about his experiences, since among other things we are talking about a football player who represented Egypt in the 2018 World Cup, counting three participations (in the same number of matches) in the stadiums of Russia.

The talk obviously about Amr Warda, with the preface… between us not being particularly necessary, because the Egyptian only needs no introduction. However, the issue in this case is that this is a player who was acquired by Apollon last month with the prospect of making an immediate difference.

With the good morning of the new year, we expressed our opinion that clearly the 29-year-old ace can, however despite his efforts so far… the truth is that he was not able to improve things much. Of course, to be fair to him, when the atmosphere in a team is not the best possible (see results, changes of coaches and announcement of the departure of the management), then for any football player to stand out, if nothing else, it is not easy .

We also agree that now that things have reached for the “blue and white” the most realistic goal is to enter the top six, something that everyone in the camp of the Limassol team is expected to chase.

Consequently, the former international winger must even now remind of what he is capable of, helping his team to the maximum in the next three games against Akrita, AEK and AEL. Certainly one cannot expect everything from Ward, but for the positive results to come… undoubtedly Apollo needs the good self of the Egyptian.
