The approval by the Council of Ministers of nine revised and new incentive plans for the further development and targeted promotion of special forms of tourism, is announced by the Ministry of Tourism.
Specifically, according to an announcement by the State Ministry, the plans are the following:
Incentive Plan for the organization of Conferences / Meetings and Incentive Trips in Cyprus
Event Grant Scheme for the promotion of Wine Gastronomy and Local Products organized in Cyprus
Financial support plan for the organization of international sports events in Cyprus
Hosting program for foreign sports teams, clubs and associations for training and preparation in Cyprus
Financial support plan for the certification of recreational diving services in Cyprus, based on the requirements of CYS EN ISO 24803: 2017
Incentive plan for hosting cruise ships in Cyprus
Incentive plan for organizing familiarization trips for special forms of tourism
Incentive Plan for the creation, upgrade of infrastructure / facilities, related to the special forms of tourism, which is addressed to metropolises, hotels and tourist accommodation, leisure centers and legal entities
Incentive Plan for the creation, upgrade of infrastructure / facilities, concerning the special forms of tourism, which is addressed to the Municipalities and the Communities
It is reported that the plans were prepared by the State Department, in the framework of the National Tourism Strategy 2030.
“Apart from the specialized objectives served by each Plan, the State Department generally aims, through their implementation, at upgrading the tourist product and attracting larger flows of visitors to our place, outside the peak period”, it is noted.
It is added that by proving its commitment to sustainable development, the State Department innovates by including in all Incentive Schemes a sustainability index, which promotes the involvement of the local community, the utilization of local products, the protection of the natural and structured environment, but also the character. of each area.
